KACCE BACKGROUND INORMATION
Kazuramimba Catchment Conservation and Education (KACCE) is a non-profit, voluntary organization established by local community and registered under the Community Based- Governmental Organization Policy with No. KDC/CBO/051/2012 on October 09th, 2012 to operate in Kigoma District Council level, currently divided into Uvinza District from former Kigoma District. KACCE is working with all residents regardless their age, ethnic origin, ability, sex, belief or political affiliation recognizing the value of our many differences.’” The main objective is to conserve environment and improve livelihoods of local communities, gender equality, human rights and community-based organization integration through participatory approach.

KACCE is a holistic program that supports local education in hopes of educating the community about the importance of conservation. At the same time, KACCE also aims to equip community members with the technical know-how of engaging in sustainable natural resource management
STRATEGIC GOALS
Improve the capacity of Kazuramimba Catchment Conservation and Education (KACCE) in schools and in the community social-economic empowerment of marginalized population groups through enhancing sustainable use of environment and natural resources.
PROGRAMS SUMMARY
Environmental Conservation program
Through this program component “KACCE strives to fight poverty, global warming, environmental and cultural degradation in the rural and peril-urban areas to promoting the health and well-being of the residents of the targeted areas. This is done through promoting both environmental improvement and conservation practices by educating, encourage and support local populations in Environmental practices, Art and Culture development, Education support, Water sources protection and Community livelihoods improvement by working with and for the target communities.
Education Support to Vulnerable program
Through this program KACCE strives to combating ignorance, illiteracy and increase school attendance and good record for vulnerable and poorest children. Mostly named “Education Support for Environment Protection”.
Social-Economic empowerment program
To avoid unsafe and extreme deterioration of environment and natural resources, KACCE strives to socially and economically empowering the poorest communities with substitutional sources of income.
Health and Sanitation program
The program aims at improved water supply, environmental hygiene and sanitation which are long lasting health benefits to community dwellers.
